afamasaga.net Press Releases
If a single term could be used to describe afamasaga.net’s fictional compositions, it would be intertextual. Our PR does not escape the treatment. Carefully crafted and often lambasted by journo types as not being press releases but blatant advertisements, our statements are designed to carry a thread of the story, lament a thought, or establish a character.
A fair few names have been dropped in the process, and a connection to them can almost be imagined, and is definitely a link as free as being from the same town, as is the case in From Peter Jackson Town Comes LMLA-ink, which is actually a promo for the character Afamasaga, or as he is known in the GUIOPERA, the PACIFICAN.

From Peter Jackson Town Comes LMLA-ink
John Reyer Afamasaga has written three stories, John Lazoo, Illicit Blade of Grass and WIPE.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRISBANE, AK / PR FREE / May 11 2007 --
He's forty-one years of age born and bred in the same seaside town as Peter Jackson. He is shortish, his muscular physique and blood says he's from Samoa. He now writes somewhere Down Under, his psyche is still forbidden. John Reyer Afamasaga has written three stories, John Lazoo, Illicit Blade of Grass and WIPE. He pictures himself as an illiterate within the context, that being the industry in which he wishes to conduct his business - Hollywood, has writers and editors with awards, qualifications and acclaim.
"We write in hope that our works inspire artists and their audiences. I fear none as we write what is on our insides."
This is his reply to my obviously not closed enough question, "So, Mr. Afamasaga you're a writer."
In 2002, Afamasaga could not even string a sentence to say "help!" In 2007, he wants me to believe that he has a style, so therefore I should let him through the door. Often the comment from those who have tried to read his work has been, "hard to follow," to this he says, "but do you get it, then." I almost give up and then I recall his motive and why he stubbornly portrays his crew and their work in this way. To quasi quote them in their own oxymoronic way, their work is "uncut, unproofed, untaken to by a knife in the hands of an editor."
Sitting this close to him his style is evidently contagious as I tap keys on the laptop, and as I spout out this paragraph, I tell myself, "I've got to get out of this place." He smiles and says, "is that all, ah."
As I begin to leave, he tells me, "We're talking to a Hollywood writer, complete with an agent who quotes in WGA dollars." Someone walks by it is Lazoo, then he smiles, it's Metofeaz Litigatti, then he says, "Wow," at the speed with which I cannot stop myself from typing. Check out the work, and try to work it out for yourself at LMLA-ink at 'http://www.etfiction.com'.
As I do eventually close the door, the phone rings, he says to me through the closing door, "It's an Investor - an Angel Investor."

Jay Leno’s, David Letterman’s Rudy Cecera and LMLA-ink come to terms on John Lazoo…
USA May 29, 2007
The absurdity continues. Masking their motives while hiding beneath headlines that contain the names of their heroes, famous people who they have managed to relate to themselves in a limousine of an imagination that we can now all say we share, LMLA-ink announces the capture of fledgling TV screenwriter and New York playwright Rudy Cecera, who writes for Leno and Letterman, to deliver the script for John Lazoo, the stage play.
LMLA-ink obviously does not acknowledge the boundaries within which we, the trained press, stay for fear of being tagged sensationalists, and as I sell my soul for the PayPal transaction I will receive on writing this short press release I can now confirm that I will need therapy once I tear up the contract with Lazoo, Metofeaz, Le Mac, and Afamasaga.
He (Afamasaga) says to me as he shuts the door, “Look, Rudy’s got a pilot on Scfi.com. It’s called Touch. I wrote a real cool caption for my man.” I believe him when he says, “Rudy Cecera’s got guts, and he’s seamless with the idea (the story) he finds easy to make haunting and dark.”
According to LMLA-ink spokesperson John Reyer Afamasaga, the launch of their Wireless Data Subscription Service for Handheld devices in November 2007 – dMfiction.com – will receive a jump-start from a three-week Wireless Web Weality Show following Rudy around NYC as the writer seeks inspiration and reminisces in SIL HOUSE Café, Mr Pink’s Place, and Central Park, the places where the story began. A leaky source smiles at me now as it engages me just to tell me this, “And the White Room in the Hilton, Jimmy.”
With time as the only saviour available to us, we wait to see if they have finally over-written themselves this time, or are they still on track to bring John Lazoo and Genisis Jones’s New York epic to life?

LMLA-ink Stuntmen Metofeaz Litigatti and Jon Le Mac close to collapsing house of cards!
."Imagine what Rupert Murdoch would’ve said, ah?"
May 31, 2007, 12:18 am
Press Release Author = John Reyer Afamasaga (LMLA-ink)
Industry = Internet & Online
Press Release Body = Hot on the heels of snaring Rudy Cecera’s enthusiastic agreement to script John Lazoo, the Stage Play, I’ve decided to divulge this story in aid of keeping any integrity I may have left, and also of allowing me to hold onto my press pass for future concerts I may want to enter for free.
Yes, they just about shot themselves in the feet. He fronted, as a favor I asked of him on top of the $15 he pays me per press release. As he shut the door he said, “Yes, Jimmy – what can I make up for you today, a coffee or a story, ah?”
Talking to John Reyer Afamasaga, it’s hard to believe that 48 hours ago he came close to collapsing the house of cards that he, Lazoo, Metofeaz, and Le Mac have built. “Yeah,” he said, “I’ll have to have words with Metofeaz and Le Mac. Maybe take their DVD & TV rights off them – something like that.”
Only I know because I was there.
Their ad on craigslist.org for a Hollywood writer to script WIPEWORLDWIDE, the screenplay of WIPE, quickly yielded two replies. The one which caught their eye was from a hardworking screenwriter whose work has been optioned in Germany. They Googled “Julian Philips”, and at the top of the list appeared a link to a FoxNews presenter of the same name. They wrote a piece, had it proofed, and advised their business broker of a coup and the headline that could well have sealed their fate: “LMLA-ink Click with Former FoxNews Presenter to Develop WIPE.”
As they posted the press release on a distribution site, an email from their Julian Philips arrived with a photo attached to it (the one on the left – photo at dmfiction.com). They sent a quick note to the website asking it to STOP PRESS, and once again averted an imminent PR disaster. “Imagine what Rupert Murdoch would’ve said, ah?” he said as he smiled at the sunshine at last coming through the open window.
According to Afamasaga, Julian Philips’s stories have the same quirky and closed view of the world as does Jon Le Mac’s. “Julian’s stories are small,” he noted, “in cramped, small, well-defined spaces – up in a tree, beside a grave. He’ll be able to make things intimate within the spaces we conjure, like inside a video game, which is essentially inside a TV screen.”
WIPE (available at etfiction.com) is the heartwarming story of how Polina Rada, a Russian orphan, an FBI Agent named Ms San Fe, and a bad boy from LA named John Page all come together as a family unit. This comes to pass within a world-wide phenomenon of a video game that creates itself as people play it. It does this by . their ideas through the controls its players innocently hold to play its levels, which they have unconsciously created – WIPE the video game.
Portions of the screenplay will be available on www.dmfiction.com, LMLA-ink’s new portal. These will include the synopsis, snippets of the character development process, and a few sample scenes, as a precursor to the launch of the Wireless Data Content Provider in November.
John Reyer Afamasaga also said that “Julian will also be able to sensitize for you and me what Polina Rada and WIPE are about, just as Lazoo had dreamed it”
