About etfiction: Foundations & Fundamentals |
(Content is unedited) etfiction, or Emotional Techno Fiction is a literary style designed by John Reyer Afamasaga of LMLA-ink. Emotional, is how the writer wants the reader to feel about the characters and their stories. Techno describes how the writer synthetically designs a mechanism for creating emotion. It can also suggest the writer composes the work much like the way a DJ composes their own unique groove by taking samples from many genres of music and mixes them together. Fiction is the genre. The style almost reads like an Artificial Language, this maybe due to a fundamental at the heart of etfiction; LRP: Linguistic Rhythm Patterning, or the backbeat. In LRP the writer’s flow of words creates its own syntax which at first can be semantically perceived to be out of context. In etfiction the writer mixes sentences where other styles morph words to create syntax. etfiction is Intertextual, in that its primary characters are also responsible for creating the work. John Lazoo is responsible for coming up with the ideas. Metofeaz Litigatti is the writer, and Jon Le Mac & John Reyer Afamasaga are responsible for publishing the books. These four characters are known as LMLA-ink who is the company who may have orchestrated all of the stories. etfiction is a conceptual framework designed from the basic elements of a story, to give a new writer a structure within to create, thus giving them the confidence to write the body of work. The three key elements of etfiction’s Foundation are:
etfiction Fundamentals: The fundamentals of etfiction are the immovable objects which maybe used to stimulate the new writer’s mind to fill in the body of work, once a foundation exists: 4SI: Or, the 4 Sided Idea suggests another framework is constructed to discipline the writer’s ideas. This is so they may be conceptualized, visualized and then realized within a trait of a character, or thread of the story. These four criteria were designed to keep the concept within a box. 4SI ends in etfiction’s motto, or maxim axiom LOVE, TRUST, HONESTY & RESPECT, which are the aspirations of the Lead Character – John Lazoo. A writer’s motto can be their own. Remember the 4 sides to this control device formulate for the writer the message they transmit throughout all stories in the end to end saga. Side 1: It is SIMPLE Side 2: It is a STORY or it can be a story Side 3: It looks different to many people from many angles Side 4: It will be responsible for many rewarding relationships and ultimately it will bring: LOVE, TRUST, HONESTY & RESPECT. Transmutation: Means change. Specific to etfiction; it is a process of changing, from one form, nature, or state to another. Roberto Assagioli founder of Psychosynthesis defined the changes in a person’s development in terms of a mutation. etfiction’s creator going through their self development read Assagioli’s work and credits him along with Freud as being responsible for giving him the blueprint for his method for moving his story. While other styles maybe driven by the plot or character stories, etfiction is driven by the change in the character. The way the story line progresses is less obvious and hopefully an innate experience to the reader, as it is intrinsic to the character. The changes are only seen through their actions over a long period of time. The reaction to those actions are relayed to the reader, only in the end can we see the results of the change. This etfiction fundamental and the next one are critical to the way the stories are delivered. Le Mac’s Action Sequencing Jon Le Mac is the creator’s imaginary friend, who he ends up meeting. Le Mac is a film school drop out. He is a laid back character, who has seen his fair share of action on the streets he grew up on. This may be the reason why he finds pleasure in watching the simpler things in life. Though it may seem mundane, Le Mac can dramatize any scene through his eyes that have witnessed real life drama. It is from Jon Le Mac’s Angles and in John Reyer Afamasaga’s Voice which LMLA-ink tells their story. Linguistic Rhythm Patterning (L_RHYTHM_patterning) – LRP Metofeaz Litigatti, the writer whose work was first spotted on the walls of New York City and then on the skin of some women; has passion which had to be tamed. Instead of instructing the whimsical one, on how to do what comes naturally. The creator found a pattern in his writing which he massages into the Artificial Language of etfiction. GUIOPERA stands for Graphical User Interface Opera. A Virtual Opera; the term GUIOPERA as one word was coined by John Reyer Afamasaga as a main stage for works derived from his literary style etfiction. A GUIOPERA as designed by Afamasaga has many chapters, written from 5th September to 25th December each year. Every week one or more chapters are written and published within 7 days. Each chapter has three parts. Works onwards and including the eBook BrocoliFlower strictly adhere to each part being set in a single location. Only when the story is said to be set in a Computer Generated environment does the location change within a part of a GUIOPERA chapter. |
About GUIOPERA Format |
(Content is unedited) Is the Browser based Virtual Opera or Theater created to present a story elevated by its creators to the same status as the Matinee, the Broadway Hit or the Hollywood Block Buster. Secondly its availability, and portability through downloads to mobile phones and computers, make it as accessible as Free to air TV. Thirdly and fundamentally the most important feature of the GUIOPERA is the 3 Part structure. GUIOPERA’s 3 Part structure evolved over three years. From 2006 to early 2009 while penning etfiction’s first five stories, which were the application of many years of construction and deconstruction of the LOVE, TRUST, HONESTY & RESPECT motto, or maxim, and axiom. The free flow of thought which could be accounted for as Stream of consciousness is the Artificial Language that was written and weaved throughout John Lazoo, WIPE and Illicit Blade of Grass (the LMLA-ink Trilogy), which are built on the STORYBOOK and POEMBOOKS: POEMBOOK, and Prōtokollon. The most important requirement for the GUIOPERA was; to build a brand which could instantly grab someone’s attention, while using all the associations people have with the tried and proven forms of delivery created by the entertainment industry, dating as far back as the Chinese and the way they delivered their stories. It is important to recognize that the GUIOPERA is not system or technology dependent, its only differentia is that it is viewed in Graphical User Interface, and not in a physical location. The formatting or the organizing of the information or in this case the story; considers three things. Firstly it tries to justify the way in the LMLA-ink trilogy; the story jumps without considering the reader’s inexperience of the etfiction style. In the GUIOPERA each part is clearly stated PART 1, 2, 3. Secondly it takes from the Screenplay Format, its Location setting which defines where the story line may go within one PART, unless when the story is set in the SFD (SenFenide Dimension), or a dream, where locations melt, fade, dissolve into each other, and the location is irrelevant. Thirdly the GUIOPERA imagines that most readers are capable of remembering one or more threads to a story. Whilst in production, which is on average one to three releases in a week, the writers want to stretch these threads thin, so as to give them a different or even new meaning once the serial is complete and available for the reader to absorb end to end.
